| 2012 "King of the Miles" Rules |
- Open to NEO Trail members only. All NEO Trail members are encouraged to participate in this activity.
- There are two categories, one for FA miles, and the other for miles raced, during the calendar year 2012, ending at the URINEO event in December. Each mile must be in an "official" event, either a race or an FA. Any distance raced while "running" counts, from anything less than a 100 yard dash up to around the world, or even to the moon and back. You can submit a triathlon, but only the running miles (on foot) count. Group training runs do not count. The Rules Committee will decide if a particular event qualifies as an "official" event. The Rules Committee will also decide if a particular event qualifies as FA or a Race.
Each mile in an FA counts as 1 mile towards your total for the FA Category. Each mile in a Race counts as 1 mile towards your total for the
Miles Raced Category. Each mile will only count towards the total in one category. If you DNF an event, you get the miles raced up to the DNF point. Same if you run X number of miles in an FA... you will get credit for those miles, even if it is less than the advertised distance.
Any miles run on your birthday counts towards the FA miles.
- Each month’s totals will be posted by the 15th of the following month onto the contest web page. Each participant is responsible to get their data
to Jim Harris. No one is going to research the miles for you. You must be an active participant. Submit your miles to Jim Harris at runharrisrun@gmail.com by the 10th of each month for the prior month. Once the 10th passes you will not get credit for miles from the prior month. Example: On the 10th of February, Jim will close out the books for January. If you don’t have your totals to him for January by February 10th, you will get zero miles for January. You can join the competition in any month, but cannot get results backdated for prior months. Once the 10th day of a month goes by, all prior months are closed out.
- Whoever has the most miles at the end of the year is crowned the winner of that category.
- Any issues will be resolved by the Rules Committee. (who may be bribed with cash, beer, or bourbon)
- Anyone caught padding their miles will be publicly ridiculed and banned from competitions.
