Hey People...

Just wanted to throw out there that I am thinking about another edition of the Monkey Hills Marathon.
Last year it was held simultaneously with URINEO.
For myself, I think that it needs to be it's own event.
(plus I felt like I missed out on not getting a full URINEO in)
If you want, you can still run the MHM during URINEO, but I am leaning to makeing it an FA in the week between Christmas and New Years.
Not sure with work schedules how to fit it in, especially with Christmas and New Years on the weekends.
Will post more once the plan comes together for this run and we get closer.
Just wanted to see what kind of interest there is in the group for a run like this.

I agree, that would be an awesome FA to have separate. I want to complete a MHM someday, but might attempt 50 miles at URINEO this year. I'll see how that pans out, how the legs feel, and what the holiday schedule looks like and decide if I want to face the monkeys this year.

URINEO will be Dec 18. I am up for a MHM, depending on work schedules. But the next weekend is Christmas, Sat Dec 25. I may be working NY Day 2011,so I won't be able to participate. I would be off Thursday Dec 29, not a big happening shopping day. Might be a better day to stretch IT Bands!

PS. URINEO Dec 18- can I sleep anywhere local, Dec 18? I am planning on running 50 miles. So I will drive up early, and get going. After 50 miles, on the Mill Creek campus, I am not going to drive 1.5 hours south. If I can bunk somewhere *free* that would be cool. (If not, I am planning on grabbing a hotel room.)

**Free means a spot of floor in someone's house....I don't need much people...a shower would be a bonus also..**

So at this point we have one vote for December 29th.
Will keep tally and see what we end up with.

Kimba...
The Harris B&B will be open that weekend, and for you we have the "Ultra Runner's Triple B Special."
Bath, Bed, and Breakfast.
If you get a better offer (closer and less distance driving) then I am fine with you taking advantage instead of the drive further north.

Will can wait and see who else steps up and what they offer.
Does any one have a better deal for Kimba?

I think Slim can offer a quad "B"

Bath, Bed, Beth (aka Mrs. Harris) and Breakfast.

Kimba, You are welcome at the Combs household as well.

I believe Mr. Dobies will be at my house the night prior to URINEO.

I think the 29th is a Wednesday?

I will try to be there for some milage for both if I am able to run ... I am hoping to head to San Fran for the 50 Miler on Dec 4 and not sure how my recovery will go if that pans out ...

My schedule is starting to shape up for the week between Christmas and New Year's.
The only day I have off is Monday, December 27th.

So at this point I am loosely planning on completing the MHM on that date.
Probably start as early as I can, somewhere around 5:00 AM.

I need to go and see if I wrote my time down for the 29 laps.
I am a little leary about completing this event again.
Gombobu keeps reminding me about my coma afterwards.
Need to fuel better this time.

Really wish I could join you Jim, but my knee says differently. The MHM is no joke. I completed 20 laps last year and almost killed myself coming down those hills at the end. I had a mixture of oreos, Cliff bars, water, and gels during the run. I was also in a coma afterward, but mustered up enough sanity to drive to the closest Mickey D's to devour a couple sandwiches and apple pies.

Here's my report from last year - http://jeffmusick.blogspot.com/2009/12/ ... dness.html

Hey Jeff...
Thanks for the link to your RR.
That is a great feature of RRs, they bring back all those memories that are inside your brain, that you can't remember without a little prompting.

BHAGs are never easy, especially the ones that are pointless, or as Dobies says, "Stupid!"

Duty Calls.
I am now scheduled to work on the 27th, so no MHM on that date for me.
Would like to fit it in if at all possible, but does not look like it will be in 2010.

Maybe MLK weekend will work for me.
Will see how the fitness is holding up as we get into mid to late Jan.
Need to be rested for Feb, as TWOT is a BHAG that I have.
