This year marks the 4th installment of the URINEO FA (officially pronounced "yer-een-o", which stands for "Ultra Runners in North East Ohio" or "You're In Ohio").
This free fun run is organized by the N.E. Ohio Trail Club and is open to all runners.

This run, which takes place on the YUT-C 50K/25K course, begins at the Lily Pond parking lot at 7:00 AM and traverses throughout Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, Ohio.
Each loop is 8.3 miles and features many items of interest (lakes, waterfalls, creek crossings, historic buildings, and the infamous "Love Log").

Everyone is welcome to run as much or as little as they wish. The only requirement is that each runner attempts to pee his/her name in the snow (if there is snow) during the run. What did you expect from a run called URINE-O???

I was wondering if you could be more specific with the address. When I use Map Quest and put in Mill Creek Park, Youngstown, OH; ten options come up, such as Mill Creek Dr, but no park. I'm not from the area, so any other details would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi chrisk,

Did you go to the URINEO web page? There are pretty good maps there with directions on where the Lily Pond is. You probably won't be able to get an address to the Lily Pond. Look at the map for the Lily Pond and then if you are still confused tell us where you are coming from and then we will help with more specific directions to the start location.

Looking forward to running in MCP.

Jim

I680 to Belle Vista exit. Go south on Belle Vista cross Mahoning Ave continue until stop sign and then turn left go about 4 tenths of a mile directly into the park. The parking lot is on your left.

I know, I know, FA is "no rules," etc. but I have questions:

Does the 8.33 mile loop include Big Bear?

50 miles = 6 times Big Bear?

Thanks,
LT

The 8.3 mile loop does include Big Bear and the extra distance around the Lily Pond. So your spot on with what you are thinking.

If one chose to go say 50K, then they would not do BB and go straight like on the YUTC course.

That would drop down to 7.9 miles per loop. So 4 loops of this would be a tad heavy for 50K, but that's ok.

I am still a bit high right now from Slim Pickins, I love the FA season!

Bob

Thanks for the clarification, Bob. I knew there are choices to get the 50k or 50M, or distances in between.

Coming from a fella who 'only' did 2 URINEO loops last year, I'll aim to top that, at a minimum.

Not sure how much I'll bite off and chew, but if going for 50M I want to make sure I don't short the distance.

Whatever distance each of us goes its all good!

I plan on 50K with the early start, then time to cook some soup in the parking lot along with some recovery fluids.

Hey Todd and others.

Not to be nebulous with the answer, but its sort of whenever you want it to be. To make it easy I would say 5AM (2 hrs before regular 7AM start time). I plan to start around 5:10 so I can be back a few minutes before 7 grab a drink of water drop my lights and go hopefully with a group of folks at 7. I plan to do 4 very easy loops for a 50K total.

So as far as a early start I would just suggest starting at whatever time gets you back before 7. You and anyone else are of course completely welcome to start with me at 5:10ish.

We don't keep timed results for this run just distance covered, some will run 8 miles some will run 50miles.
