The first ultra I ever did was the Buckeye Trail winter run. There were 12 people and it was a blast. It was 12 degrees the whole time and slippery and snowy. I have been having bad luck with events due to unforeseen circumstances. Work for Slim Pickens and now the unexpected loss of a helluva a man whose funeral will be this weekend. My Orthopedic Surgeon who fixed my ACL died unexpectedly. He was a multiple finisher of several 100 MTB races and multiple biking endurance events. He finished Primal Quest multiple times also with a great finish in Primal Quest Montana this past year. A person who loved his job and life beyond anyone I have ever met. It sucks that he is gone. I want to get back to what I enjoyed. No crowds or silly events that pollute the cause. I am looking to do the original BT 50k in the snow on a crappy day. Sometime probably in January or February. Anyone interested feel free to plan. I need the boost.

Count me in, just like old times. I will send you an email to discuss.

Hang in there!

Corey - Very sorry to hear about that. I'm planning on running the summer BT50K course in reverse (starting from Pine Lane to Brecksville & back) on Saturday, January 2nd if you and/or anyone else wants to join me? Will decide on a start time as the day gets closer. Afterwards I'll be heading up to "Mohican Colleen's" annual gathering to enjoy post-run food and ultra talk with other runners. This FA run on the BT was my first ultra also, back when Bob first talked me into doing ultras.

For those interested, I have decided on a 7:00 AM start from Pine Lane on Saturday, January 2nd.
From there we'll head north on the Buckeye Trail and turn around in Brecksville.

Here is a map of the course:
http://www.usatf.org/routes/view.asp?rID=127193
(Just remember that we'll be starting from mile 16 on this map)

Any questions, please ask.
